All-Around Novice Youth
Story & Photo by Jessica Hein | Paint Horse Journal | July 2, 2011
First-timer Alexandra Marlow and Glowin Easy are the All-Around Novice Youth champions.
It was a banner show for All-Around Novice Youth Alexandra Marlow and her 15-year-old sorrel overo gelding Glowin Easy. Attending the 2011 AjPHA Youth World Championship Show for the first time, the 13-year-old from Victoria, Texas, didn’t know exactly what to expect. Yet, Alexandra and “Shorty” took to the premier Paint event like ducks to water, and the racked up an impressive seven world championship titles in Novice Youth and Youth 13 & Under events, including sweeps of horsemanship, hunt seat equitation and Western pleasure. When the dust settled, they were named the show’s All-Around Novice Youth team and the reserve All-Around Youth 13 & Under pair. The September 2011 Paint Horse Journal will have Alexandra and Shorty’s complete story—subscribe today to ensure you won’t miss a single issue. Click here to subscribe.
